This is the cutest SUV of them all, the Suzuki Jimny is a full on, heavy-hitting mini SUV first introduced in 1970. Suzuki do not sell a lot of cars in the UK, typically below or just above 30,000 units per year. So that makes the Jimny a rarity on UK roads, and that’s a good thing.
Thankfully the next generation Jimny has remained barley unchanged from the late 70’s onwards. And that’s a good thing because the classic looks, never seem to age.
Not much is known about the new Jimny because Suzuki has not revealed anything, but expect to see newly developed naturally aspirated 4-cylinder 1.5-litre and 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engines with a proper low-range transfer box for the part-time 4wd.
Currently the Jimny is not available for sale because production ended to make way for the all new Jimny.
You can buy a used example, a one year old, low mileage Jimny costs around £14k.
Suzuki sell around 1,200 Jimnys per year in the UK, the company expects an increase in demand when the new 4th-generation model hits retail on July 5, 2018.
