The all new Nissan LEAF may well be a radical departure from the current 'Mr Chumley & Co' design. Nissan says the new Leaf will feature improved aerodynamics and a more effective shape.
As a result of the wind tunnel developed design, the new Leaf will become more efficient, allowing drivers to travel farther on a single electric charge.
Aerodynamics is key to how efficiently an electric car moves. Less drag and better stability enable the vehicle to drive longer distances before having to recharge.
The redesigned next-generation Nissan LEAF is lower to the ground, helping it attain zero lift for better stability at high speeds. Other new design features significantly stabilize the car when hit by strong crosswinds.
Inspired by airplane wings, Nissan engineers recreated the ideal shape for the new LEAF, enabling a symmetric air flow that helps it slice through the air for a smoother, more efficient journey.
Looking at the teaser image lets hope Nissan ditch the choir boy look and make the Leaf more visually appealing instead of what it is right now, visually appalling.
The all new look 2018 Nissan Leaf will be officially revealed in September.
