## SEAT’s all new compact SUV, the Arona, is now available to order in the UK, priced from £16,555. It becomes SEAT's fourth new model in just 18 months and is its first foray into the crucial compact crossover class. The New Arona, is named after a town on the island of Tenerife. It's based on the same chassis as used by the Audi Q2 and VW T-Roc.
SEAT model trims familiarity continue with SE, FR and XCELLENCE, but, with each level expanded into additional versions that add in more equipment: SE Technology, FR Sport and XCELLENCE Lux.
At launch, the new Arona will be available with a choice of five powertrains three petrol units and one diesel which is available in two power derivatives, 95pS or 115PS.
The petrol lineup starts with the 1.0 TSI 95 PS, matched to a five-speed manual gearbox; this is also available in 115 PS, with a six-speed transmission.
The more powerful version of this three-cylinder unit will also be offered with DSG automatic transmission. FR and FR Sport models make use of the 1.5 TSI 150PS EVO engine.
The new Arona will also feature a 1.6 TDI engine, with 95 or 115 PS – the former optionally available with DSG.
Standard feature highlights include 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights and tail lights, a five-inch touchscreen, six-speaker audio with FM/AM/DAB radio, Bluetooth and aux-in/USB connections.
Most buyers are likely to go for the mid-range SE Technology but whatever model you choose you can't argue just how damn cheap the Arona is. Even Top of the range Arona XCELLENCE Lux 1.6 TDI DSG-auto is just £24k.
