The world premiere of the all new VW Touareg will take will take place in China, the world's strongest growing SUV market and the company’s largest individual market. VW is staying tight lipped about the styling, for now we get an insight with this design sketch.
The new Touareg house the latest smart assistance systems and feature one of the largest digital cockpits in its class, the Innovision Cockpit, opens up a new type of infotainment environment.
The SUV C-segment is currently one of the fastest growing segments in global automotive markets and is expected to double its volume by the year 2023 in China, for example.
However spy shots of the Touareg out on test in California appear to confirm the third generation resembles a stretched and widened Tiguan, in terms of its styling.
The engine range is expected to continue using the current crop of petrol and diesel engines and a Hybrid option will be available. It isn't clear if a fully electric powerplant is on the cards.
Prices are expected to start at £45k with first deliveries expected in April.
